A collection of family photographs, most of which are real photograph postcards, from 1927 through to 1935 in Hartland and Kendall, Kansas. The prairie families pictured include the Mendenhall family and Bessie Pace, who married Lester Mendenhall. Pace was a school teacher at the time and there are a couple pictures of her with her classes posing in school photos and in candid shots. Some of the pictures of Pace are sent to her younger brother, Howard, as real photograph postcards. There are also pictures of sod houses, farm equipment, horses, and men working in the field. Pictures of automobiles from that time are included with one featuring a small boy, smiling and tucked behind the front bumper are also included. Lastly there are professionally shot pictures of some of the family members, mostly young men in military uniforms. An interesting collection of prairie family photographs and real photograph postcards from 1927 through to 1935 in Kansas.
