How do I cancel an order?

You may find that you have ordered a wrong title or for another reason you need to cancel an order you have just placed.   Please note that the automated tools for requesting order cancellation are only available for three hours after orders are placed, and only if you have placed your order while logged into your registered account.   If three hours have passed or if you did not place the order while logged into a customer account, requests to make any changes to your order will need to be sent to Biblio and/or the bookseller direclty.  Please note also that many booksellers use automated order fulfillment systems, which means that orders are processed much faster.  It also means that it is less likely that the order may be canceled before it is shipped to you.  In those instances you may need to request a return.

To request cancellation of an order you have just placed, login to your IOBA customer account and click on "View my orders".

Choose the order that you wish to cancel and click on "More details", or the order number.   You will be directed to the order details page.   Just below the shipping and billing address information, you will see "Status: Shipment pending confirmation and processing by the bookseller Request cancellation of this shipment".   Click there to request cancellation.

A cancellation request will be sent to the bookseller for your shipment and the bookseller will confirm whether or not the order has been shipped.

If the bookseller confirms that it may be canceled, you will receive an email confirmation and your payment will be voided.  If your payment included more than one order placed at the same time with more than one bookseller, then the total charge will be adjusted rather than voided.  For more details about how charge adjustments and voids work, click here.

If the order has already been marked as shipped by the bookseller, then you will not see the option to request cancellation, and the Status will be "Shipped".  You will be given the opportunity to leave feedback, but the option to request cancellation will no longer appear.

You can still contact the bookseller or Biblio customer service to request cancellation or return of the order.   If the order has shipped to you already, we will ask the bookseller to provide you with return instructions.  You can always reach customer service at .  To contact the bookseller directly, use the "Contact bookseller" link that you will find in your order history, next to "More details".

If you have not registered for a IOBA account, please contact orders@ioba.org and provide us with your order number, or the email address you entered when you placed the order.  We will forward your cancellation request to the bookseller.
